What youll be doing:
Data and Business Intelligence sits within Boots UK IT division and is responsible for the enterprise Data Platform and Business Intelligence Reports. We are currently moving these reports to use Azure Databricks and Power BI. Data is power across many areas of the business such as Stores POS/EPOS sales HR Finance Commercial and more and within this team you will get the opportunity to work and support across all areas of the business. giving you an excellent opportunity to work on a wide span of data.
Key responsibilities:
As an Analytics Engineer you will report to the Analytics Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining and modelling the data that underpins our reports proving its accuracy and working with our report developers to make sure that its fit for purpose while also maintaining aspects of our legacy data systems until we have completely moved to Databricks and Power BI. Our reports have thousands of daily users and so maintaining efficient performance is key.
You will also work with other parts of the business to understand and unlock the full potential of Boots data.
What youll need to have (our must-haves):
- Hands on experience of data engineering within an analytics or BI / MI environment.
- Experience using Power BI to model data.
- Experience using Databricks.
- Be proficient at writing SQL
- Knowledge of data modelling concepts such as star schema
- Excellent communication interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to deal effectively and confidently with individuals at all levels of the business and across functional boundaries.
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities as requirements evolve.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience of Python.
- Experience of other related tools such as ADF ADO Git and Powershell.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VBA.
- Knowledge of Power BI External tools like Tabular Editor Dax Studio etc.
- Experience using SAP BW.
- Experience of Agile methodologies.
