Performs lubrication cleaning inspections changes belts and filters in equipment.
Performs repairs on heating ventilating and air conditioning units replace bearings electric motors gear reducer air compressors various electrical and pneumatic control components etc.
Maintains an adequate supply of tools parts and supplies for jobs.
40% - Responds to emergency calls/after hour emergencies:
Repairs are performed timely and as expertise permits.
May assist other central shop staff with more complex repairs.
Respond during loss of utilities or equipment failure.
Reset equipment and assists with repairs on HVAC equipment.
10% - Other Related Work as Assigned:
Assists with other maintenance areas and in other work areas as assigned. Assists with snow removal and surface treatment.

Position Overview The University of Kansas is seeking a General Maintenance Repair Technician in the HVAC unit. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and emergency repair tasks to University buildings (physical structure mechanical electrical and plumbing systems) with this position being involved in a regular program of inspection and repair at a journeyman level using more than one skilled trade. This position requires the operation of work-issued vehicles.
Work Schedule: M-F 7:30AM-4PM
