Position Overview
The University of Kansas is seeking a General Maintenance Repair Technician in the HVAC unit. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and emergency repair tasks to University buildings (physical structure mechanical electrical and plumbing systems) with this position being involved in a regular program of inspection and repair at a journeyman level using more than one skilled trade. This position requires the operation of work-issued vehicles.
Work Schedule: M-F 7:30AM-4PM

- Performs lubrication cleaning inspections changes belts and filters in equipment.
- Performs repairs on heating ventilating and air conditioning units replace bearings electric motors gear reducer air compressors various electrical and pneumatic control components etc.
- Maintains an adequate supply of tools parts and supplies for jobs.
- Repairs are performed timely and as expertise permits.
- May assist other central shop staff with more complex repairs.
- Respond during loss of utilities or equipment failure.
- Reset equipment and assists with repairs on HVAC equipment.
- Assists with other maintenance areas and in other work areas as assigned. Assists with snow removal and surface treatment.

- Must have a valid drivers license by the time of hire and throughout the term of employment.
- Two (2)years of experience in a skilled craft area. Associate degree or vocational school certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

- Reach grasp lift carry and place moderately heavy loads frequently and heavy loads occasionally (50 lbs.) with or without accommodation.
