About this Position:
The incumbent of this position assists professional surveyors and/or higher level technicians in the performance of field survey work in the Location and Survey Section at DOTD.
This position requires statewide travel each week that involves overnight stays Monday Thursday.

Job Duties: Utilizes a thorough knowledge and understanding of Department procedures policies standards and specifications in the course of assisting in the electronic collection and processing of field survey data. Applies DOTD surveying and engineering policies and procedures to normal work situations in the field and while using computer software to edit the survey data to ensure he quality and quantity of data provided. Assists in properly maintaining all associated surveying equipment necessary for accurate data collection. Completes required training classes and receives on-the-job training in performing all phases of electronic survey data collection and the development and use of computer-generated digital terrain models (DTM) Provides on-the-job training or assistance to newer or lower level technicians and/or consultant personnel.
