Location: Gainesville FL
Position Type: Permanent / Full-Time

Note: Candidates must live within a commutable distance.

Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour shifts

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM (rotating weekends)

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (rotating weekends)

• Required to work every other weekend

Role Overview

A large acute-care hospital in the Gainesville Florida area is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support multiple Medical-Surgical units. This role requires flexibility strong clinical judgment and the ability to adapt quickly to varying unit workflows and patient populations.

The Float Pool RN delivers high-quality patient-centered care while floating between Med-Surg units as staffing needs require.

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients and families while maintaining privacy and confidentiality

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans

• Deliver plan-based nursing care focused on quality and continuous improvement

• Float between multiple Medical-Surgical units based on operational needs

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of current acute care Medical-Surgical RN experience REQUIRED

• Must be currently working in a Med-Surg setting

• Only Medical-Surgical experience accepted

• Comfortable with a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio

• Flexibility to float between multiple units

• Active Florida RN license or approved multistate license

  • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

• BLS certification required within 30 days of start

• AHCA Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting required

Compensation

• Flat Rate: $43.00 per hour (regardless of years of experience)

Shift Differentials

• Night Shift: $4.25/hour

• Weekend: $3.00/hour
