Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and innovative individual to drive the validation and performance characterization of ultra-low-loss photonic components for our utility-scale quantum this role you will play a critical part in defining performance targets quantifying device behavior through rigorous statistical methods and driving yield and process improvements across design and manufacturing.

You will work at the intersection of device physics data analysis and manufacturing collaborating closely with design process and product teams to deliver photonic integrated circuits at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Validation of the performance of ultra-low loss passive photonic components.
  • Definition of DOEs and robust statistical analysis to accurately quantify component performance.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback to define and evaluate performance targets.
  • Coordinate design and process improvements to increase yield.
  • Apply quantitative analysis in determining root cause of highly technical problems and propose develop and implement solutions for corrective action

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering Materials Science Applied Physics or other related fields with 5 years of industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with SPC and yield analysis. Experience with photonic integrated circuits and/or quantum circuits is a plus.
  • Proficiency in analysis of large datasets with python matlab or jmp
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Proven team player with an ability to work effectively across departments sites time zones.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and detail oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience executing cross-department complex projects.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver against a schedule.

The ranges below reflect the target ranges for a new hire base salary. One is for the Bay Area (within 50 miles of HQ Palo Alto) the second one (if applicable) is for elsewhere in the US (beyond 50 miles of HQ Palo Alto). If there is only one range it is for the specific location of where the position will be located.Actual compensation may vary outside of these ranges and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidates qualifications including relevant education and training competencies experience geographic location and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
