- Perform Pedo Prophies
- Chairside assist doctors
- Float assisting
- Assemble instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area positioning instruments for the dentists access suctioning and passing instruments
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene instructions
- Contribute to team effort by helping where needed
- Welcome the patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment
- Assure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
- Help dentists and dental hygienists during procedures or examinations by providing suction handing off dental instruments and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
- Answer any questions the patient may have about dental hygiene schedule appointments for patient care follow-up and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients teeth and gums after procedures
- Evaluate and document vital signs for patients and update medical records
- Dental assistance or schooling given preference
- Experience with children
- Strong interpersonal skills customer service organization and excellent communication skills are essential
