We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize!As the Building Inspector Manager here in Hamilton County you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the performance of Building Inspector Supervisors and ensuring compliance with departmental goals and budget objectives. This position involves leadership in training managing inspection teams addressing complex consultations and maintaining accurate records. The Building Inspector Administrator is a key liaison with various agencies and actively contributes to resolving operational issues related to building codes. Summary of Job Duties: - Manages Building Inspector Supervisors in performance of job duties and responsibilities.
- Develops and oversee the training of Building Inspectors and Building Inspector Supervisors.
- Develop and manage system to verify and validate inspection records.
- Collaborates with the public and private sectors to assess the feasibility of proposed methods addressing operational challenges related to building codes.
- Represents the Chief Building Official at various meetings.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction building inspection or code enforcement including at least four (4) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity related to the essential functions of the position.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting only for the experience requirement above
- Possession of an RLC certification issued by the Ohio Board of Building Standards including applicable specializations (e.g. BI MI FPI EPI/ENI)
- Out-of-state applicants: Candidates who hold equivalent certifications in another state at the time of appointment must obtain the required Ohio RLC certification within two (2) years of appointment.
- Valid drivers license issued by the state of residency.
Work Location and Hours: - 138 East Court St. Cincinnati Oh. 45202
- 40 Hour Work Week generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30.
