Job Summary
Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Salary Range: $25.00 - $37.00 hourly
POSITION SCOPE:
The Supervisor will be responsible for meeting the production targets supervision of the staff and supporting the continuous improvement of the manufacturing operations. The individual must be flexible to work day afternoon and night shifts.
REPORTS TO:
Maintenance Supervisor
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines;
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards;
- Adjust machine components machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product;
- Regulate machine flow or speed;
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur clear machine jams and report malfunctions to a Supervisor;
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material;
- Clean oil and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment such as opening valves or setting guides;
- Monitor the production line watching for problems such as pile-ups jams or glue that isnt sticking properly;
- Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines as the schedule requires;
- Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders;
- Train Packaging Equipment Operators;
- Assist with production on lines as required;
- Able to source & order parts through online maintenance program;
- Follow all Company health and safety policies and procedures and work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required; College or University degree an asset;
- 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/ or co-packing environment (preferably food and/or packaging)
SAFETY:
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) where needed
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or other safety-related issues
