Highlights of the job

We are hiring a full-time temporary Analyst Corporate Finance & Credit position working out of Edmonton AB for up to 20 months.

As the Analyst Corporate Finance & Credit you will be responsible for conducting independent research preparing analyses recording transactions and reporting on a range of Corporate Finance activities. This includes work related to securities issuance cost allocations and counterparty credit assessments along with other Treasury-related responsibilities within the addition you will participate in crosstraining with the Analyst Treasury Operations role to ensure effective coverage and provide backup support when required.

What youd be responsible for

  • Providing input to plans and directions and ensuring an appropriate understanding of the EUI and Corporate Finance & Credit strategy and policies.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all reporting requirements and promptly responding to all inquiries from stakeholders
  • Assisting with the recording of weekly debt pricing sheets and preparing monthly internal credit costs debt rates and other various requests from within and outside Treasury team.
  • Preparing aging reports fair value calculations counterparty credit risk reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Assisting with ongoing credit reviews of counterparties and documentation including independent research on counterparties and preparing credit reviews.
  • Delivering timely and accurate backup support to the Analyst Treasury Operations ensuring current procedural knowledge through continuous crosstraining.
  • Ensuring appropriate recording of cash debt and treasury transactions including creating and reviewing journal entries accounts receivable information cash/bank reconciliations and miscellaneous fee reporting.
  • Developing implementing documenting and reviewing processes to ensure compliance with policies standards regulatory requirements ensuring mitigation of risks and bringing forward process improvements.
  • Maintaining a strong team environment with all Treasury team members.

Whats required to be successful

  • Completion of a Diploma in Business Finance or Accounting (or a related field) from a recognized post-secondary educational institute.
  • 4 years of directly related and progressively responsible professional finance/accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel applications for financial analysis.
  • Understanding of credit risk management and corporate finance markets.
  • Understanding of rating agency key ratios and credit reviews.
  • Understanding of Canadian & US Banking systems would be considered an asset.
  • Understanding of treasury and cash management is considered an asset.
  • Understanding and use of Oracle financial systems is considered an asset.

Wage: Starting at $49.93 per hour

  • Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time ofselection and are subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours weekly

  • To meet operational needs the successful candidate must be available to begin their workday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
