ABOUT THIS JOB

Position Specific Summary

The Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor at the City of Tucsons Fire Department supervises personnel in the maintenance repair and modification of emergency response vehicles and their components in a busy and fluid environment.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Emergency Vehicle Fleet Superintendent. This position exercises supervision over division personnel.


Duties and Responsibilities
This classification may include any of the listed duties knowledge skills or other characteristics. This list is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all duties and tasks performed by incumbents of this class. Work assignments may vary depending on department needs.

  • Supervises and oversees the daily work of employees and coordinates personnel-related activities to include but not limited to: training approving work schedules recommending and approving personnel actions coaching and counseling establishing performance goals and writing performance evaluations.
  • Inspects tests and measures completed work to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.
  • Inspects and monitors work area examining tools and equipment and providing safety training to prevent detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
  • Evaluates emissions tests oil analysis annual ladder inspections and annual pump tests results.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions
Indoorand outdoor work with some exposure to physical ergonomic or emotional hazardous environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications
Education: 6 months post high school
Work Experience: Four (4) years of relevant experience
