Job Summary

Work Shift:

Night - 12 Hour (United States of America)The Phlebotomist (Certified) Lead performs various technical and clerical procedures within the clinical laboratory. Ensures continuity of workflow between patient and laboratory. Responsible for processing all patients who come to the laboratory for clinical tests. Ensures that patient samples are adequate in amount and that integrity of the sample is maintained. Prepares specimens for referral to reference laboratories and various departments of the laboratory. This position will have input on employee evaluations subject matter expert offering training/preceptor to the position it is lead over and oversees duties related to the position. These procedures exclude any which are performed only by licensed personnel under state licensure regulations.

High School graduate or GED equivalent. Successful completion of formal phlebotomy training program. Phlebotomy Tech or Medical Assistant (to include Phlebotomy) course completion certificate.

Two (2) years experience in a hospital or other patient care setting with successful completion of formal phlebotomy program.

Current AHA BLS certification. Current ASCP AMT ASPT or NHA certification.
