DescriptionJob Summary:
The Certified Orthotic Fitter participates in the fitting and delivery of prefabricated orthotic devices and/or soft goods related to a patients needs as indicated by an orthotic practitioner.
Key Competencies:
Excellence in customer service professionalism reduced patient wait time.
Essential Duties:
- Greets patient informs prepares and positions patient for procedure.
- Conducts clinical interview of patients and assesses needs according to Physicians prescription.
- Applies or removes casts/splints.
- Provides patient and family education.
- Completes work orders billing and notes for patients.
- Provides patient with insurance information and financial responsibility information.
- Triages patient by telephone and communicates patients needs to certified practitioner or Physician.
- Maintains cast room.
- Orders stock inventory.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED minimum education requirement
- Certification by governing body in O&P (ABC or BOC); License as required by State where employed required
- Computer skills including but not limited to MS Office Suite and EMR system(s)
- Patient care experience including treatment and documentationrequired
- Musculoskeletal anatomy and pathology knowledge preferred
Office Hours:
Mon - Fri: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Salary Range:
$47000.00/yr - $63000.00/yr
