Job Summary

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) is a cooperative delivering safe and reliable electric service through people who provide exceptional support to our member-owners and the communities we serve. SSVEC is a not for profit member owned distribution cooperative providing electricity to more than 51000 services over some 4100 miles of energized line. Located in southeastern Arizona. SSVEC is dedicated to community growth quality of life and a positive vision for the future.

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative Inc. is accepting applications for a Journeyman Lineman or Pre-Apprentice Lineman in Willcox or Sierra Vista AZ.

The successful individual will perform climbing and non-climbing tasks necessary in the construction and maintenance operations of overhead and underground electric facilities. These positions involve manual labor such as shoveling digging trenches setting poles and backfilling and tamping operating heavy equipment etc. The successful candidate will safely perform technical work involving the performance of all tasks associated with the construction maintenance and operation of SSVECs electrical system by performing all line work involved in the day-to-day operation of SSVECs electric system including transmission overhead and underground distribution power lines substations and switching yards outage mitigation and executing switching programs.

Journeymen Linemen requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent successful completion of a Lineman Apprenticeship program and satisfactory on-the-job skills evaluation by SSVEC management.
Pre-Apprentice Lineman requirements are high school diploma or equivalent (required) and working knowledge of basic electricity (preferred).

If hired you must be able to obtain or possess a valid Arizona Commercial Drivers license.
