Westwood High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Counsellor/Executive Functioning and Social Emotional Student Support
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education
- Registered Clinical or Educational Psychologist (RPsych LP LCPC Ed Psych.
- Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) who specializes in mental health Nursing or Occupational Therapist who can help with mental health challenges.
- Social Worker (BSW RSW RCSW MSW)
- Minimum of Bachelor of Psychology Social Work or Counselling with advanced practice in the assessment and treatment of mental emotional and behavioural disorders. *** Master of Psychology Social Work or Counselling (or a significant completion of this program) is an asset.
- Experience with the implementation of strategies to support student growth in the area of executive functioning
- Philosophy of inclusion and support for all learners
- Proven ability to establish good rapport with students
- Knowledge of executive functioning
- A commitment to continuous professional growth
- Training or experience in Social-Emotional Learning frameworks
- Knowledge of executive functioning interventions and ADHD-informed supports
- Experience working with adolescents in a school or youth setting
