How You Will Make an Impact
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability flexibility adaptability hospitality and dignity. The Building Superintendents main responsibility will be daily cleaning of all common areas minor maintenance in the units unit turnovers garbage and recycling. There will be no office or Tribunal responsibilities. The building superintendent will be required to live on site.
- Handling the general custodial duties and maintenance of the property that ensures that floors common areas elevators and staircases are clean.
- Responding to maintenance requests and service calls.
- Performing daily inspection checks on the building systems.
- Maintain Fire Safety Logs and follow all the protocols as per the Fire Safety Code.
- Ensuring regular garbage removal and recycling pickup occurs in an efficient manner.
- Capable of properly caulking tubs sinks countertops etc.
- Maintain positive and strong relations with tenants.
- Delivering letters and notices to residents as required.
- Handling turnover of apartments ensuring they are cleaned and ready to show prospective residents.
- Monitoring inventory control of supplies and equipment
- Snow removal to seasonal exterior ground maintenance.
- Performing any other duties as requested
- Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
Note: The Building Superintendent will be required to be on call for tenant emergencies 24 hours while on duty.
What Youll Bring to Our Team
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Experience in building maintenance/systems and cleaning utilizing all available resources including floor cleaning machines carpet cleaner and general cleaning supplies
- Attention to detail and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience working with tenants in a supportive housing environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with basic plumbing drywall electrical heating and mechanical/ventilation systems.
- A pleasant outgoing and professional demeanor - whether in person or by telephone.
- Organized and detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills and a strong sense of personal responsibility and reliability with the desire to work as an integral member of a team.
