CyrusOne is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager Environmental Compliance to support environmental due diligence initiatives across our expanding U.S. data center portfolio. This role will support our site due diligence teams with evaluating site development risks and strategies related to environmental permitting and compliance while advancing CyrusOnes commitment to sustainable development risk management and operational excellence.
Essential Functions
- Further develop and implement standardized procedures tools and training programs to support environmental due diligence and permitting across CyrusOnes U.S. portfolio.
- Provide subject matter expertise on environmental assessments and permitting including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) noise impact analyses air permitting water and wastewater permitting and wetlands.
- Partner cross-functionally with Design Construction Operations and Legal teams to ensure environmental requirements are clearly defined communicated and integrated into project planning execution and turnover.
- Represent CyrusOne in external stakeholder engagements including interactions with regulatory agencies local governments community groups and public hearings as needed.
- Track interpret and advise on changes to U.S. environmental regulations and policy and develop compliance strategies accordingly.
Minimum Requirements
Experience / Skills
- 10 years of experience in environmental permitting compliance and due diligence preferably within data centers infrastructure energy or large-scale industrial development.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations with subject matter expertise in air quality and/or environmental noise.
- Experience managing environmental permitting for data centers or other high-impact mission-critical infrastructure is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear actionable guidance for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent technical writing documentation and reporting capabilities.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills including interactions with regulators consultants internal leadership and community representatives.
- Comfortable presenting environmental risk permitting strategies and compliance considerations to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Education
Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Engineering or a related technical discipline. A relevant graduate degree or professional certification is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is remote or office-based on Dallas Texas with up to 25% travel to support site development permitting activities and stakeholder engagement.
