Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience or training in the building construction trades building maintenance maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Six semester hours in construction management construction technology or engineering or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs routine and emergency maintenance and repairs as required. Uses a variety of hand and power tools in performing maintenance and repair duties. Completes preventative maintenance on various types of equipment including but not limited to HVAC systems water heaters blower motors lawn equipment etc.
Maintains and troubleshoots facility fire and security alarm systems. Responds to after-hours fire and security alarm calls as directed to reduce and prevent the spread of damage to facilities and equipment.
Performs basic electrical maintenance; troubleshooting replacing light fixtures electronic lighting ballast fluorescent bulbs LED tubes outlets switches and electronic flush valves.
Performs basic plumbing duties: repairing or replacing pipelines and connections soldering and brazing joints cutting and threading pipes repairing or replacing faucets fixtures and supply and drain lines unclog drains sinks and toilets using mechanical drain equipment.
Performs general carpentry duties to maintain facilities including but not limited to: installation and replacement of cabinetry doors locks shelves walls partitions and fencing.
Possesses the ability to read and utilize blueprints construction drawings and schematics in order to assist Administrative Program Director 3.
Perform painting duties; repairing patching and texturing surfaces sanding cleaning and painting interior and exterior surfaces by brush roller or spray equipment.
Performs various grounds keeping and landscaping duties around the residential homes; lawn mowing weed eating edging planting raking blowing sweeping and applying pesticides and fertilizers.
Maintains repairs and installs floor coverings; wood laminate VCT tile roll carpeting carpet square ceramic tile and terrazzo. Maintains a current drivers license proof of insurance and a clean driving record. Moves furniture in Residential homes or throughout the facility as needed. Picks up trash from the residential homes.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled by Probation Promotion Demotion or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center.
Compensation:$35734 - $64314
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday and to include possibly some emergency weekends and holidays.
Career Progression: Vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Maintenance Repairer 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
