DescriptionJob Summary
Provides leadership over the materials management departments. Responsible for the management and purchasing of all medical/surgical supplies linen medical equipment services and capital assets for the hospitals. Responsible for assuring departmental contribution to overall hospital performanace and the organizations mission and goals. Under the administrative direction of the corporate supply chain department and hospital CFO. Incumbent is responsible for all shifts 7 days/week 24 hours/day and subject to overtime and callback as required by hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Monitors supply needs of customers and develops improvement plans with measurable goals to enhance services.
- Promotes BMHCC vision/values through personal example and interaction with staff and ensures compliance with BMHCC policies and procedures.
- Directs overall operation of materials management departments and works with staff and customers to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
- Controls overall financial/budgetary management of the department through analysis of departmental operations and identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
- Communicates and interacts with staff and key customers to improve customer satisfaction.
- Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
Specifications
Experience
Minimum Required
- At least 2 years of relevant leadership experience
Preferred/Desired
- Experience in healthcare with demonstrated abilities to direct team activities as well as in basic business applications.
Education
Minimum Required
Preferred/Desired
- M.S./M.B.A. with 4 years experience. B.S. with 6 years experience.
