Were looking for a Network Engineer to join our Federal team and play a key role in securing critical infrastructure for the DHS CDM DEFEND this role youll be the go-to expert for solving complex network and AWS cloud challenges ensuring our clients stay secure and operational. Youll design and implement build plans create automated solutions and develop reusable frameworks that make our systems smarter and more efficient.

This position is based in Fairfax VA or Lafayette LA with a flexible hybrid scheduletwo days in the office the rest remote.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Take charge of network security by managing Palo Alto firewalls updating policies and mitigating threats.
Build secure connections through Site-to-Site IPSec VPNs for seamless inter-site communication.
Partner with hosting teams to optimize load balancers and ensure high availability.
Keep networks running at peak performance by monitoring troubleshooting and fine-tuning using industry-standard tools.
Document like a promaintain clear detailed records of configurations topologies and operational procedures.
Shape the future of our infrastructure by contributing to network integration solution design and scalable enhancements.
Own IPAM and DNS management while optimizing F5 load-balancing solutions.
Work across platforms with familiarity in Microsoft and Linux technologies.
Be a team playercollaborate effectively adapt to change and maintain secure practices.
Communicate with impactstrong organizational and verbal/written skills are key.
Keep processes sharp by updating SOPs and documentation regularly.
Bring positivity and focus to every challenge.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

US citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance.
58 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and support.
Expertise with Palo Alto firewalls Site-to-Site VPNs and LAN/WAN architectures.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP routing protocols (BGP OSPF) and network security principles.
Proven experience troubleshooting network traffic flow in AWS environments.


Desired Qualifications:
Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g. Ansible) for network management.
Knowledge of F5 load balancers and advanced traffic optimization.
Background in designing and implementing network security measures including IDS/IPS.
Awareness of emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends to stay ahead of threats.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100800.00 - $245500.00.
