About the team.
The role sits within the Group Planning Analysis & Reporting Finance Team a pivotal team within Financeat The Very Group.
Our teamis responsible forthe provision of insightful & consistent management reporting for the Exec Team and Group Board that influences strategic thinking andfacilitatesthe creation of Budgets Quarterlyforecastsand Long-range plans. Our work ensuresaccurate quality information is shared with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external.
We develop close relationships with all teams across Finance and teams across the wider business.
Success in the team requires an engaging individual who embraces every challenge who can communicate effectively and willseekto find better ways to achieve the teams goals.
About the role.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery ofbestinclassboard andexecutive levelreporting. They will shape the financial performance narrative for the organisation ensuring insightclarityand alignment with Group strategy. Working across Finance and the wider business theywill drive the evolution of our reporting framework champion data quality and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead theend-to-endreporting agenda ensuring all board executive and management information is delivered to the highest standard on time and with clear strategic insight that informsdecisionmaking.
- Oversee the production of dailyweeklyand monthly performance reporting ensuring outputs areaccurate commercially focused and aligned with the needs of the Executive Team GroupFinanceand key stakeholders.
- Shape and drive a continuous improvement roadmapfor reporting processestoolsand governance. Proactivelyidentifyopportunities to enhance analytical capability strengthen numeric discipline and simplify ways of working across the Finance function.
- Provide senior oversight of data systems and reporting platforms ensuring the teammaintainsexpert-level understanding of current and emerging tools. Work with technology partners toanticipatechanges manageriskand maximise efficiency.
- Act as a guardian of data integrity ensuring all reporting is built on a single trusted source of data. Establish and embed standardscontrolsand best practices to support consistencyreliabilityand scalability.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships influencing senior stakeholders and ensuring Finance is positioned as a trusted partner in driving performance and strategicdecision-making.
About you
- A fully qualified accountantwith a substantialtrack recordof shaping and deliveringhigh-qualityreporting insight and governance atsenior stakeholderor executive level.
- Exceptional writtenvisualand verbal communication skills with the ability to craftaclear and compellingperformancenarrativefor Executive Committee andBoard leveldiscussion.
- Demonstrates strong leadership under pressure consistently meeting tight deadlines while setting clear expectations across the wider business and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Highly technically proficient capable of navigating financial complexity and translating intricate issues into simple actionable insight for diverse stakeholder groups.
- A proactive influential senior leader confident in providing informed opinion challengingconstructivelyand building strongtrust basedrelationships across Finance and the wider organisation.
- Advanced analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex datasetsidentifytrends highlight risks and opportunities and support strategicdecision-making
