Job Responsibilities:
- Full-Time Tractor Trailer Yard Shifter
- Drive company vehicles in a safe manner
- Continuous coupling and uncoupling of tractor-trailer and shifting of equipment
- Maneuvering tractor trailer equipment and box trucks into position for overnight outbound operation.
- Maintain the yard independently and efficiently close to occasional truck traffic.
- Communicate regularly with crew members drivers and occasionally customers
- Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE
- Daily exposure to the outdoor environment including odors loud noises weather elements etc.
- May include other work as directed activities as assigned
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience as a CDL yard jockey and/or equipment operator required
- This is not an over-the-road driving position but tractor-trailer driving experience is preferred.
- CDL A (preferred)
- Fluency in English required
- Ability and willingness to work independently for extended hours
Critical Physical Requirements:
- Walking and climbing steps and stairs frequently
- Two-handed lifting handling carrying cases from floor to overhead frequently
- Two-handed lifting handling carrying quarter barrels and half barrels from floor to 48 frequently
- Pushing and pulling two-wheeled hand trucks with cases on level surfaces frequently
- Pushing and pulling pallet jacks with case and/or barrels on level surfaces on an occasional basis
- Sustained squatting kneeling stooping and bending while moving cases and barrels
