Schedule: MondayFriday 6:00 AM 2:00 PM
On-Call: As Needed
Compensation: $39$43/hour (based on experience)

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to ensure the safe efficient and reliable operation of facility mechanical systems and building automation infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where your expertise directly supports business continuity asset protection and high-performance building operations.

What Youll Do
As the backbone of facility operations your day will include:
Operating and maintaining critical building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical fire/life safety temperature controls and other essential mechanical infrastructure
Monitoring system alarms (including O2 and CO2 sensors) and executing timely troubleshooting and corrective actions
Performing routine building rounds while maintaining detailed engineering logs and system data sheets
Troubleshooting mechanical equipment drives and actuators using Building Automation Systems (BAS) and manufacturer standards
Maintaining and repairing steam systems humidifiers and steam traps
Managing work planning and documentation within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Overseeing contractor activities to ensure quality safety and compliance
Responding to facility emergencies involving plumbing electrical or structural components
Developing repair estimates and presenting proposals to site leadership
Maintaining infrastructure documentation and compliance records
Collaborating cross-functionally with technicians and trades professionals to achieve operational goals
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
2nd Class Firemans License (State of Massachusetts)
Minimum 1 year of facility-related work experience
Hands-on experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms
Ability to interpret operator manuals technical specifications and engineering drawings
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to climb extension ladders roof ladders and stairs as required
Flexibility to bend squat stretch and reach repetitively throughout shift
Willingness to participate in respiratory protection program (respirator or PAPR use)
Availability to respond to after-hours on-site emergencies when needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards related to building infrastructure
Customer service background with strong stakeholder communication skills
Leadership or supervisory experience
Experience in critical or mission-critical environments
Broad experience maintaining and troubleshooting diverse building systems
Inventory management experience for critical spare parts
Contractor management and oversight experience
Strong documentation and record-keeping discipline
Proactive mindset toward identifying and mitigating safety hazards
