  • Diagnoses and repairs complex electronic controls within County facilities including door access systems Intercom systems fire alarm systems CCTV security networks scanners and duress notification systems; Oversee 3rd party contractors
  • Utilizes in-house and external expertise to troubleshoot electronic malfunctions and expedite repairs reducing downtime of security controls.
  • Develops and follows preventative maintenance schedule for all control related and life safety systems.
  • Performs various duties related to the commissioning and servicing of building controls facilities management systems and energy management systems as assigned.
  • Advises the facility of any problems related to the electrical systems; Reports damages and repair requirements to supervisor.
  • Maintains inventory of critical spare parts.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED. Technical School Training preferred. Knowledge of life safety equipment electronic access systems CCTV intercom systems IP networking and surveillance systems.
  • Three years of experience in low voltage wiring.
  • Working knowledge of DOS operating system.
  • Ability to read draw and interpret electrical pneumatic mechanical online diagrams and control sequence of operations.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and work independently.
  • Ability to devise contingencies to revert programing and configuration changes which may potentially cause undesirable reactions to systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public other employees and elected officials.
