DIRECTORS OFFICE
The Airport Directors Office provides executive leadership for John Wayne Airport. The Directors Office consists of the Airport Director the Assistant Airport Director and the Organizational Strategy Manager who supports Airport-wide initiatives. The Directors Office also has dotted line oversight of the JWA County Counsel and Human Resource Services.
THE OPPORTUNITY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Organizational Strategy Manager seeks an experienced data analytics graduate-level intern with a background in database management statistical analyses and data visualization techniques to assist with establishing John Wayne Airports performance management program. The data analytics graduate level intern will be working with all of JWAs divisions including Commercial & Revenue Development Finance Maintenance Innovation & Technology Operations Planning & Development and Public Affairs.
The intern will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This recruitment is open to applicants who are currently enrolled in or have graduated within the last six (6) months from an accredited college or university masters degree (or higher level) program with a focus in computer science data science statistics mathematics or a related field with a specialty in data analytics. *Candidates will be asked to present sample work during the interview process.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for the Data Analytics Internship will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and will demonstrate a strong proficiency in programming languages in R and/or Python statistical analysis report writing and creating data dashboards and visualizations in Power BI. Comfortably communicating and collaborating with management plus attention to detail are must-have strengths.
TIME COMMITMENT
Interns may work up to 24 hours per week for 1 year (part-time). Hours must be scheduled during normal business hours (Monday Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.). This is an in-person internship.
