Job Summary

TURKEY TOM MILKER

The MILKER is responsible for stimulating and collecting good-quality semen from the tom turkeys providing for the health and well-being of the turkeys and maintaining the cleanliness of the barn and equipment.

Efficiently extract semen from 250-300 turkeys per shift.
Efficiently pick up turkeys weighing anywhere from 45 lbs. to 85 lbs.
Efficiently herd turkeys.
Efficiently load and unload turkeys weighing anywhere from 45 lbs. to 85 lbs.
Manually feed the turkeys.
Be able to work in dim/blue lighting.
Must be able to distinguish color.
Be able to use both hands and all fingers.
Be able to work on ones own.
Wash and disinfect turkey production facilities and equipment in a safe and organized manner. (sweep wash waters)
Check for unhealthy birds in the barns.
Follow all of the companys rules and regulations for biosecurity animal welfare and safety.
Work productively in a team environment and be willing to help in any area to get the job done.
Work with a variety of tools and equipment.
Repair and/or direct the repair of the equipment as needed.
Have the ability to push bend stoop squat pull and lift 45lbs-85lbs.
Successfully work with live animals.
Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
Perform the duties of the job while constantly moving and using hands occasionally lifting heavy objects while being exposed to dust cold humidity heat chemicals and fumes.
Work an extended work day if needed.
Effective time management.
Schedule varies depending on the farm/department. Some weekends are required.
Work on various farms if required.
Have excellent hand-foot-eye coordination.
Any other duty as assigned by the Farm Manager.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in poultry preferred.
A valid Missouri Drivers License and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record preferred.

Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
