Job Summary

ThermalWorks LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Thermal Engineer to join our R&D team in Saint Petersburg FL working directly with the Director of Research & Development and focusing on thermal system development performance modeling mechanical design support and next-generation cooling technology advancement for mission-critical data centers. The Thermal Engineer needs to be agile professional trustworthy with confidential information and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. The right person can work well both independently and with a team.

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Engineering Development & System Design
    • Perform thermal and fluid system calculations supporting product development
    • Support mechanical system design and component selection
    • Translate performance targets into engineering requirements
  • Modeling & Performance Optimization
    • Develop performance models and analytical tools
    • Evaluate system efficiency delta-T optimization and operating stability
    • Compare modeled predictions with real-world performance data
  • Lab testing
    • Test program development & setup
    • Data acquisition & instrumentation
    • Testing execution
    • Data analysis & lab reporting
  • Validation & Technical Documentation
    • Support structured validation of new and existing products
    • Analyze results and produce clear technical documentation
    • Contribute to design refinement and continuous improvement
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with Controls Product Development Operations and Service teams
    • Provide technical insight supporting product release and field performance

Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong foundation in thermodynamics heat transfer and fluid mechanics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Clear and structured technical communication skills
