Job Summary

Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career in the exciting field of Aerospace and Defense KBR is looking for a highly self-motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate to design and document modifications for multiple US DoD Customers in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will under supervision create mechanical designs drawings and applicable Mechanical Engineering documentation to support multiple aircraft

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision independently evaluates selects and applies standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in the design of larger and more complex design tasks which involve conventional types of plans investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features.
  • Assists more senior Mechanical Engineers in the performance of on-site Engineering Surveys of customer aircraft
  • Under direct supervision supports installations of new and modified equipment onto existing customer aircraft

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited degree program
  • 0 to 3 years experience designing and documenting Mechanical Systems
  • Existing SECRET clearance or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Solid Works
  • Ability to read and interpret typical Mechanical Engineering documentation (i.e. mechanical drawings weight and balance reports structural loads analyses etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to read and apply Military ASME ASE Specifications as they relate to Mechanical Design
  • Knowledge of GD&T practices and application
  • Experience PDM or other PLM tools
  • Experience with US Army aviation
