Job Summary
A prominent leader in the food processing and manufacturing industry is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Scientist to join their production facility in the Mpumalanga region. This is an exceptional opportunity for a technical expert to drive quality and innovation within a large-scale agricultural cooperative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development: Lead the formulation and improvement of food products ensuring they meet specific nutritional and sensory profiles.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain strict food safety standards and quality control protocols throughout the production lifecycle.
Process Optimization: Analyze current manufacturing processes to improve efficiency reduce waste and ensure consistent product output.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products and labeling comply with local and international food safety regulations and standards.
Laboratory Testing: Conduct chemical and physical analysis of raw materials and finished goods to guarantee excellence.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelors Degree in Food Science or Chemistry is essential.
Experience: Proven experience within a food manufacturing or processing environment (experience with fruit processing or cooperatives is highly advantageous).
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of food chemistry microbiology and HACCP/ISO quality systems.
Attributes: Analytical mindset with a passion for innovation and a hands-on approach to problem-solving on the factory floor.
