Job Summary

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Engineering Manager is a team leader responsible for managing discipline construction support engineers in developing leading edge engineering packages for a utility scale EPC contractor in the US. From conceptual engineering to detailed design development documents issued for construction the Engineering Manager will manage coordinate and assure resources are accountable to efficiently deliver engineering to support project constructability .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and lead construction support engineers to conceptualize and develop detail design documents in accordance with commercial and code compliance requirements.
  • Establish engineering standards processes and automation systems to reduce time effort and cost during design process.
  • Work closely with Procurement to evaluate technology materials and alternatives that places Primoris in an industry leading position.
  • Collaborates with the Clients to understand their engineering and design needs. Use this insight and data to lead the engineering group to conceptualize and design efficient and competitive PV systems.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Project Operations to support and achieve business goals.
  • Assign develop train mature mentor hire and manage personnel and contractors across projects throughout the program.
  • Establish and communicate project and program objectives and expectations to facilitate understanding across the participants.
  • Work with your peers in Business Development and Operations to create and maintain the discipline to safely deliver quality projects on time and within budget with certainty consistently.
  • Instill confidence in the team using good project management principles and practices including communication planning coordination collaboration control and reporting techniques that inform create efficiency and add value in a professional participatory manner.
  • Develop strategies to achieve corporate objectives and work to implement same in concert with other members of the leadership team.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the engineering department and make detailed plans to accomplish those goals.
  • Measure and reports progress as appropriate
  • Check technical accuracy of work and oversee quality management system procedures for the work produced by the group.
  • Establish administrative policies procedures and standards.
  • Coordinate engineering activities of unit with other units or organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited college.
  • 10 years of Engineering field experience preferred (former Field Engineers and Project Engineers strongly preferred)
  • AutoCAD experience is required.
  • Preference given for experience in Solar Construction otherwise will consider commercial building construction experience..
  • Organizational communication (written & verbal) skills are required.
  • Travel is required (target of 25% or more as needed).
