Job Summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Lab Technologist to join a premier hospital Rapid Response laboratory in Anderson SC. This is a full-time position working the day shift Monday through Friday in the Rapid Response Laboratory. The laboratory is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic services and innovative solutions to improve patient care.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The MLS will aid in patient diagnosis and treatment performs accurate tests and procedures on patient specimens. Microbiology experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all testing and procedures according to standard laboratory procedure and techniques producing accurate results.
Maintains an operational knowledge of all mechanical and electrical equipment in the lab including the ability to operate the Lab Interface System
Participates in the quality improvement requirements of the laboratorys quality management system. Ensures that quality control and calibration criteria are met
Assumes responsibility for attaining required continuing education credits annually
Responsible for bench teaching training and evaluation of students residents and new employees
Demonstrates proper phlebotomy technique proper identification of patient correct labeling of samples and proper processing of specimens.
Assists with test/procedure evaluation implementation and maintenance; helps to implement change..
In addition to the above job responsibilities other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology
MLS(ASCP) highly preferred. Must be at least eligible for MLS certification.

SALARY/SCHEDULE/BENEFITS

Pay rate starts at $27.50/hr for non-certified candidates and $$29/hr for certified candidates.
1st shift M-F 6:00am-2:30pm with weekends required every 3rd week
Shift Differential for both 2nd shift hours and for weekends.
