Were excited to be adding an Electrical Engineer I to our Access Controls Group who will focus on PCB and electro-mechanical assembly test equipment and process. The candidate will assist in designing prototyping and validating electronic hardware test solutions for next-generation access control products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teamsfrom concept development through pilot productionto ensure the reliability manufacturability and success of new & existing products.
This role involves creating test Equipment and Test process for new product development conducting test process and equipment verification and continuously improving products throughout the development cycle. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment demonstrates excellent communication skills some software skills and possesses a strong hands on background in build debug test equipment usage and hardware troubleshooting.
This position will report directly to the Lead Engineer and sits onsite full-time in New Haven CT.
What you will be doing
Work closely with a diverse engineering team (hardware firmware/software mechanical manufacturing and QA) to
drive new product innovation.
Participate in Pre-Product Innovation (PPI) New Product Innovation (NPI) and Continuous Product Innovation (CPI) initiatives.
Help Translate Product Requirements into a product test plan and then into the execution of Automated Test Equipment and test Process..
Collaborate with the Test and Manufacturing teams to ensure testability and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.
Assist in development Build Test Equipment debug hardware issues and implement improvements hands on
Apply SAFe principles to improve workflows reduce design cycle times and enhance overall product quality. Project Management
Own day-to-day project tasks ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors to track progress and resolve issues.
Contribute to project documentation risk assessments and change management processes.
What we are looking for
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Strong understanding of analog digital and embedded hardware principles.
Skilled in using test equipment (oscilloscopes DVMs function generators logic/protocol analyzers) for troubleshooting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; able to present technical information clearly.
Works effectively in both small teams and global project environments.
Self-motivated and results-driven; able to set and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
