Valmont Industries is a global leader in infrastructure and manufacturing with over 12000 employees worldwide. The Valmont AI Group based in Israel serves as a central hub for designing and delivering advanced AI-powered solutions that drive operational excellence across the organization. The group focuses on building practical high-impact AI systems and intelligent agents that improve core business processes including supply chain optimization factory scheduling production planning and process automation.
We are looking for a Principal AI Engineer / Senior Data Scientist to take a leading role in designing and delivering advanced algorithms and AI agent-based systems across Valmont. This is not a pure research position. The role requires strong algorithmic and data science expertise combined with end-to-end ownership from problem discovery through production deployment.

A well-rounded AI professional who combines strong technical depth with business understanding; Ownership-driven and collaborative with the ability to lead initiatives end-to-end in cross-functional environments; Comfortable working in dynamic multi-threaded problem spaces balancing multiple moving parts and priorities. You will work on real high-impact problems see your solutions adopted at scale and help shape how AI is applied across a large organization.
Essential Functions:
Own AI-driven initiatives end-to-end
Design and implement advanced algorithms and AI agents
Collaborate with software engineers and business stakeholders
Translate business challenges into AI solutions
Take models from prototype to production
Continuously improve deployed solutions
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate
. in Computer Science Physics or related field (. Advantage)
5 years of experience in data science or applied research
Strong Python experience including hands-on experience with Pandas Scikit-learn and PyTorch (advantage)
Excellent communication skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
Experience with Generative AI models foundational models and related concepts Advantage
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Experience leading cross-functional AI projects in enterprise environments
Experience deploying AI solutions at scale in production systems
