D&A Technical Delivery Lead

Position Overview

Senior leadership role managing technical solutioning and delivery via management of different squads/teams involving data flows design & implementations supporting various advanced analytics & data science initiatives within the Corp Functions and subsequently also the steady state data operations across SAP BDC and Databricks platforms.

This position is within the Corp Functions Data & Analytics Squad reporting to the D&A Lead for Corp Functions. Though initial technical delivery focus will be on Finance domain the role will have potential to grow the technical delivery leadership for other corp functions as well.

Role Purpose

The D&A Technical Delivery Lead will drive the technical delivery and transformation of Corp Functions data platforms not only spearheading the migration from legacy systems to modern Databricks architecture but also supporting the building of new data products. This role is crucial in establishing and maintaining robust data operations across SAP BDC and Databricks environments ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of different data flows. The position demands strong technical leadership to guide squad-based delivery teams while implementing technical delivery oriented best practices including also the DataOps.

The person will be instrumental in modernizing corp functions data analytics capabilities through implementation of the scalable solutions while also closely aligning with solution architecting teams & functional stakeholders in actually designing such solutions.

Additional responsibilities for this role may also involve delivery of different Data Science initiatives in line with AI/ML vision of the Corp Functions D&A workstream.

Towards this the person will work closely with the respective function stakeholders to understand business requirements translate them into technical solutions and ensure delivery of high-quality data products. Success in this role requires balancing technical expertise with effective team leadership and stakeholder management while maintaining clear communication channels across the organization.

Accountabilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of data solutions across SAP BDC and Databricks platforms ensuring alignment with Corp Functions domain requirements and enterprise architecture standards
• Drive the migration strategy and execution from legacy systems (Smartmart) to Databricks including the creation of new data products covering planning risk mitigation and ensuring business continuity throughout the transition
• Drive solutioning for new data flows from SAP & other source systems in close collaboration with Corp Functions BA capability (Business Analysis)
• As part of overall technical delivery establish and maintain DataOps practices including CI/CD pipelines automated testing and monitoring solutions for Corp Functions data workflows
• Manage and mentor squad delivery teams through sprint cycles ensuring efficient resource utilization quality deliverables and adherence to agile methodologies
• Develop and implement data science and AI/ML solutions for corp functions focusing on generating the business value
• Ensure data quality governance and security standards are maintained across all corp functions data flows working closely with relevant governance teams covering the respective data product owners
• Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams solution designs (in close collaboration with the Architects/BAs) and standard operating procedures
• Provide regular status updates and reporting to stakeholders including progress tracking risk management and milestone achievements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives and regulatory requirements
• Lead technical problem resolution and implement preventive measures to minimize operational disruptions within corp functions data platforms

Knowledge Experience & Capabilities

Technical Knowledge & Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering/analytics with at least 4 years in technical leadership roles
• Deep expertise in Databricks platform including Delta Lake Spark with also experience in AI/ML flow implementations
• Strong understanding of SAP data structures SAP BDC architecture and integration patterns
• Proven experience in designing and implementing DataOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with data warehouse/lake migrations particularly involving SAP-centered data systems
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and associated data services
• Understanding of Python Scala and SQL for data processing and analytics
• Experience with modern data architecture patterns including data mesh data fabric and data virtualization
• Experience in technical solution architecting

Leadership & Management Skills

• Strong understanding of data governance security and compliance requirements pref in modern architectural context such as Data Mesh
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams in an agile environment
• Strong project management capabilities with experience in delivering complex data initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Qualifications :

Bachelors or Masters degree in Informatics Computer Science or a related D&A field
