Tacoma Country & Golf Club has been occupying this beautiful property on the shores of American Lake. TCGC
is the oldest established American Golf Club West of the Mississippi.
Golf is central to the member experience at Tacoma Country & Golf Club. We feature an 18-hole
championship golf course that stretches beyond 7000-yards from the back tees. Accomplished players will
love the test they find on our links while players of all skill levels will find a playable course that is enjoyable
round after addition to the course itself our members enjoy access to one of the finest practice
facilities in the region.
Tacoma Country and Golf Club is set to host the 2026 Centennial Washington Open and the 2027 US Senior
Womens Open. The Club recently hosted the 2025 Washington Open and the 2024 Pacific Northwest
Womens Amateur. TCGC hosted the 1961 U.S. Womens Amateur 1984 U.S. Senior Womens Amateur 1994
U.S. Womens Mid-Amateur 2007 U.S. Girls Junior 11 PNGA Amateur Championships 3 Washington Mens
Amateurs and numerous USGA championship qualifiers including Final Qualifying for the 2017 U.S. Open.

Position Summary
As the Assistant Horticulturist at Tacoma Country and Golf Club you will be responsible for assisting the
Horticulturist in clubhouse grounds maintenance landscaping building maintenance and golf course
maintenance (as needed). This role is often working in common grounds areas where our membership
frequents it is essential that the Assistant Horticulturist is comfortable and welcoming in this environment.
Primary Responsibilities include the following:
Complete daily tasks set by Horticulturist with a sense of purpose
Identify and resolve any issues on the clubhouse grounds and golf course landscape
Work closely with the Horticulturist to continue to elevate the clubhouse grounds and landscape areas
Manage time effectively
Chemical and Fertilizer applications as directed by Horticulturist
Aid GC maintenance team with course preparation during weekend shift (Every 3rd Weekend)
Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
Degree or certification(s) in Horticulture or a related field of study
Positive Attitude
0 - 1 years of experience in a landscape maintenance role
Ability to work some Weekends/holidays; adapt schedule around tournaments and events
Ability to work collaboratively with the Horticulturist
Strong attention to detail
Understand the game of golf
Employment is contingent on clearing a background check
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time 40 hour weekly with benefits including:
Hourly: $19.00 - $23.00 DOE
