Sr AI UX and UI Developer

As a Sr UX and UI Developer here at Honeywell you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing advanced data solutions for AI solutions that drive business insights enhance decision-making processes and empower AI solutions. Your expertise will help in critical AI development activities across all AI modalities (classic Gen and agentic) and data types (structured and unstructured).

You will report directly to our AI Director and youll work out of our Phoenix AZ or Charlotte NC location on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop intuitive performant and scalable user interfaces forAI-powered applications spanning classic ML insights GenAI experiences and emergingagentic AI interfaces.
• Build modern front-end applications usingReact integrating with backend AI services RAG pipelines agent orchestration engines and data APIs.
• Design and implement agentic interaction patterns including multi-step agent workflows tool invocation visualizations conversational UI human-in-the-loop controls and AI traceability interfaces.
• Develop rich data visualizations and dashboards usingTableauto present model outputs system telemetry quality metrics and user-facing insights.
• Translate complex AI conceptsmodel predictions confidence scores agent reasoning chains retrieval contextinto clean understandable and human-centered UI components.
• Collaborate closely with AI architects data scientists ML engineers and software developers to ensure front-end interfaces are aligned with backend AI capabilities.
• Conduct user research usability testing and iterative design cycles to refine interface behavior accessibility and task success rates.
• Create reusable design components UI style guides and UX standards for AI-driven applications across multiple business domains.
• Ensure high standards of code quality performance security accessibility and responsiveness across devices.

YOU MUST HAVE

• 5 or more years of professional UI/UX or front-end development experience.
• Strong proficiency withReact modern JavaScript/TypeScript and component-driven architecture.
• Experience developing data-driven UIs connected to APIs microservices or ML/AI backend services.
• Hands-on experience building dashboards or interactive data visualizations preferably withTableau.
• Experience implementing modern UX methodologies including prototyping wireframing user testing and iterative design.
• Strong understanding of UX principles for AI-driven applicationsexplainability transparency task success and user trust.
• Ability to translate abstract technical concepts into intuitive and visually engaging user experiences.
• Solid knowledge of CSS/SCSS state management patterns and front-end build tools.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional agile teams working alongside data science engineering and product stakeholders.

  • Tool/action invocation visualizations
  • Reasoning chain introspection (Why did the agent do this)
  • Human-in-the-loop decision gates
  • Memory timeline or context trace displays
• Familiarity with GenAI interaction patterns: conversational UI RAG context previews LLM evaluator visibility and model confidence visualizations.
• Experience integrating withDatabricksorDataikuoutputs for dashboards insights and workflow visualization.
• Understanding of ML and AI concepts such as features embeddings inference results evaluations and quality metrics.
• Experience with accessibility internationalization and responsive design for enterprisegrade applications.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma Sketch or Adobe XD.
• Curiosity and passion for shaping the future ofAI user experience especially for autonomous and semi-autonomous agentic systems.
