About the role

As Financial Controller you will ensure strong financial governance statutory compliance and safeguard Tetra Techs financial position to enable highquality delivery across donorfunded programs through strong compliance and risk management. This role will lead daytoday finance operations producing timely management accounts managing yearend and audits driving ERP improvements and automation while mentoring the finance team and partnering with business leaders on budgeting forecasting and cash management in a fastmoving international development environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly quarterly and annual management accounts in accordance with Accounting Standards and company policies.
  • Manage yearend processes coordinating with external auditors and supporting statutory accounts preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian regulatory requirements including GST and FBT.
  • Maintain and continuously improve financial controls policies and procedures.
  • Lead mentor and develop the finance team directly overseeing multiple reports and promoting a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • Support the annual budgeting cycle and rolling forecasting process in partnership with operational teams.
  • Manage the Treasury function including credit control and cashflow forecasting.
  • Oversee internal and external audits responding to audit queries and implementing agreed recommendations.
  • Manage financial systems (ERP and reporting tools) and drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and risk management frameworks are embedded across finance and projects.
  • Undertake and address other duties as required to meet business needs.

Selection criteria

  • CA or CPA qualified (essential).
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Financial Controller role or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Proven experience in financial control management accounting and compliance within a complex or multistakeholder environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards taxation and statutory reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience with yearend processes and external audit coordination.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/financial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present financial information clearly to nonfinance stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Solutionsfocused proactive approach to process improvement and automation.
  • Experience managing complex financial reporting requirements.
