RoleOverview
This positionis responsible fordeveloping and implementing advanced welding processesincluding robotic welding designing weldments for robotic applications and driving continuous improvementinitiatives.The candidate will provide technicalexpertiseto develop and implement processes that meet engineering requirements for complex welded structures including both prototypes and production.
The role involves leading the specificationselection and global implementation of robotic welding systemsandrelevant advancements in welding technology. A deep understanding of welding techniques materials science and automation technologies is essential.Designing products for automated welding will be a critical responsibility.
The candidate will collaborate with site manufacturing teams to implement functional excellence and standardization across all plants. This includes institutionalizing welding automation from conception to completion with an emphasis on team member safety best-in-class quality and manufacturingproductivity.
KeyResponsibilities
Responsiblefor leadingsite manufacturing teams with the development justification andexecution of long-range plans to meet companygoalsforwelding technology including related automation.
Continually evaluate newweldingtechnology for possibleimplementation.This will include working closely withsuppliersto research test and evaluateinnovativesolutions that provide bottom line benefit to the company.
Promotes the technical integration between all operations and engineering departments aimingatprocessimprovement implementation new materials testing and approval and dissemination of technical knowledge.
Aidin the evaluation of capacity planning forweldequipment andprocesses to ensureabilityto meettakttime and customer requirements.
Identify prioritize and implement solutions for processimprovementopportunities includingapplicationof lean manufacturingprinciples process mapping root causeanalysis andproblem-solvingtechniques.
Resolves complexweldprocess problems byusingproblem solving methods and applying both simpleandcomplexsolutionsasnecessary.
Education
B.S.or MSDegree in Engineeringor equivalent technical discipline with 10 years of experience.
Requirements:
Approximately 25% of the time will be spent travelling toall Geniemanufacturing sites
AWS Certified Welding Inspector
A strong background inlean manufacturing is.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Prior experience inmanaginglarge CAPEX intensive projectsis required.
Must be able to manageworkloadfor multiple projects and meet key metrics including budget timeline and process/product performance.
Excellent coaching and leadership skills

The salary range for this position in Western Washington is $95-150000 annually based on experience and skillset.
