Job Summary

Job Title: MT/MLT
Specialty: Moderate & High Complexity Laboratory Testing
Site: Dayton VA Medical Center
Location: 4100 West Third Street Dayton OH 45428
Duration: 6-month base contract with a 6-month option period
Shift Schedule: Monday Friday 8-hour shifts - one position 07:00AM 03:30PM and one 03:00PM 11:30PM
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: Approx. 80 hours per two-week pay period 2080 hours per 6-month period total for 2 FTE Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks (VetPro credentialing required) Certifications Required (MT):
One of the following:

MLS (ASCP)
MT (ASCP)
AMT certification
Categorical or Specialist certification (ASCP/AMT)

Certifications Required (MLT):

Appropriate national certification per VA standards (ASCP or AMT)

Experience Needed:
2 years of experience in moderate and high complexity laboratory testing preferred Special Skills Needed:

Quality Control (QC) performance and documentation
STAT testing within 60 minutes ( 95% compliance)
Routine testing within 4 hours
Critical result notification within 60 minutes ( 98% compliance)
Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
Proficiency testing participation

Responsibilities:

Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory testing in compliance with CLIA CAP and VA standards.
Run and document QC prior to releasing patient results.
Maintain instrument calibration and preventative maintenance.
Communicate critical values to providers timely and document appropriately in the VA electronic health record.
