Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent / Planner
Location: Proctor WV USA
Schedule: Full-Time Onsite (may include on-call or extended hours as needed)
Salary: $115000 $130000 annually
A highly automated greenfield petrochemical/fine chemicals processing plant is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent to lead and plan plant maintenance activities. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment in a dynamic environment while shaping maintenance best practices and team development.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of approximately 7 maintenance technicians and contractors

Plan schedule and oversee routine and breakdown maintenance jobs to maximize uptime and minimize production disruptions

Develop implement and manage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for optimal resource utilization
-
Provide technical guidance troubleshoot complex equipment issues and collaborate with vendor engineers
-
Develop and implement maintenance best practices to improve efficiency reliability and safety
-
Coordinate with production and operations teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and allocate resources effectively
-
Manage spare parts inventory optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs
-
Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspections to meet regulatory and internal standards (Process Safety Management)
-
Train apprentices and operations personnel in maintenance and reliability practices
-
Promote a culture of safety collaboration accountability and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
-
Associate degree in Engineering or High School Diploma with extensive experience
-
15 years of maintenance experience in petrochemical or chemical plants
-
Hands-on experience as a millwright or with turbines compressors and pumps
-
In-depth knowledge of modern maintenance techniques and best practices
-
Proficiency with CMMS and other maintenance management software tools
-
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
-
Knowledge of health safety and environmental regulations
-
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Plant environment with exposure to chemicals machinery and varying temperatures
-
Physical ability to lift walk and stand for extended periods
-
Willingness to be on-call or work outside regular hours as needed
