| Key Responsibilities: |
Gains an understanding of the fiduciary roles and responsibilities of acountytreasurersofficewhichoperatessimilar toa financialor bankinginstitution for local governments by managing and investing public fundsunder state law.
Conductsfieldworkatcountytreasurersofficesthroughout the State toexaminecompliance withtheUniform Accountingfor Arizona County Treasurers(UAMACT).
Examinesthe county treasurer officesinternal control frameworkwhichincludes:the control environmentrisk assessment internal control activities information and communication and monitoring withinacounty treasurers office.
Research best practices laws and regulations and other applicable resources related to the county treasurer offices under review.
Evaluates essential IT systems specifically for county treasurer offices financial systems.
Helpsmake impactful recommendations tocountytreasurersoffices to promote better government and make a positive difference.
Follows up on recommendations annually to examineprogress anddetermineif recommendations areimplemented.
| Qualifications: |
A bachelors degree in finance economics business business management or a related field isrequired.
Entry-level positions will involve training under senior examiners.
Strong interest in public service and improving State government.
Strong analytical abilities attention to detailproficiencywith computer software and excellent communication for interviewing personnel.
Prior experience with banking institutions internal audit functions or county treasurer operations (preferred).
Must have valid Arizona drivers license.
