Our Client is seeking to appoint a strategic and results-driven Head of Department: Human Resource Value Creation to join its Chief Human Capital Office. This senior leadership role reports to the Chief Human Capital Officer (CHCO) and is responsible for ensuring that the HR Department delivers leading practice strategy-aligned and value-adding services and solutions that are responsive to the needs of its customers. The incumbent will provide leadership in determining a strategic and customer-driven HR agenda compile and execute a comprehensive HR Value-Creation Plan and ensure continuous measurement of the impact and effectiveness of HR services across the organisation. The role further requires strong stakeholder engagement with the Board the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee (HRRC) Executive Management organised labour and relevant external bodies within the energy regulation sector.
In order to be considered for this role you must have the following:
- Postgraduate Diploma or Honours Degree (NQF 8) in Human Resources Management or equivalent as recognised by SAQA
- Minimum of eight (8) years related experience of which at least five (5) years must be at management level
- Demonstrated expertise in Human Resources Management best practices
- Strong management and leadership capability
- Experience in leadership development organisational culture and employee engagement initiatives
- Experience in organisational structure design and strategic workforce planning
- Knowledge of the Energy Regulation sector
- Sound knowledge of Labour legislation
- Strong problem solving analytical research report writing presentation and facilitation skills
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation contract management and applying technology within an HR environment
Key Job Responsibilities (But not limited to):
- Provide leadership in determining and implementing a strategic and customer-driven HR agenda.
- Compile and communicate a Strategic HR Value-Creation Plan demonstrating improvements in service quality efficiency and effectiveness.
- Benchmark and customise leading HR practices aligned to sector requirements and organisational needs.
- Oversee the successful execution of the HR Value-Creation Plan and continuously measure and report on its impact.
- Manage the performance and development of direct reports through clear objective setting coaching mentoring and ongoing feedback.
- Create and sustain a working environment that promotes trust collaboration empowerment and innovation.
- Monitor evaluate and report on HR Value-Creation performance indicators to the Executive Committee (monthly) and HRRC (quarterly).
- Oversee talent management employee relations recruitment and selection training and development and performance management functions.
- Nurture and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive policy development business process improvement and governance compliance within the HR function.
