Summary Electrical Apprentice As an Electrical Apprentice you will assist in the installation of both standard and complex conduit and electrical components in building systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude basic math skills and a desire to grow in the electrical trade. You will work under the guidance of experienced electricians learning to read blueprints solve problems on the job and perform a variety of routine and semi-complex tasks. Over time youll gain the skills to troubleshoot more advanced issues and take on greater responsibility with increasing independence. You will also support the lead electrician in training and mentoring team members in electrical and conduit operations.
Accountabilities:- Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints under supervision.
- Support the installation of conduit electrical boxes fixtures and enclosures.
- Help stock and organize electrical wire carts and materials.
- Pull wire through conduit and assist with making ground connections.
- Learn to install receptacles switches and basic wiring configurations.
- Participate in insulation resistance continuity and point-to-point checks.
- Observe and assist with operational checks and quality assurance tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area following all safety protocols.
- Follow instructions from journeymen crew leaders and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the electrical team.
Required Knowledge/Experience:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to learn and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
