Case Stockhandler I
Position Summary
To assist in the receipt issuance storage and inventory of food items supplies equipment and merchandise; reconciles deliveries with delivery tickets verifying acceptability of product maintains inventory levels coordinating FIFO/rotating stock system; will work within a diverse work force in an ever changing work environment; will sweep mop and sanitize storeroom walk-in refrigerators and related areas in the dining services. Located in Case Hall.
All positions in RHS are designated as critical the event of a university closure modification or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Working knowledge of tool nomenclature use of stock catalogs record keeping and proper food safety storage methods is necessary.
- Computer familiarity may be required.
- Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operators license(s) is necessary.
- Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in ordering and inventory systems; skills in taking initiative and being highly flexible; customer oriented including ability to anticipate the needed changes in service and customer demands.
