:59 PMThe Senior Director of Sales has overall accountability for revenue generation and revenue management across all sales tiers and platforms for Montreal and Quebec Regions. The mandate is to grow and protect revenue for CBC and Radio-Canada Media Solutions by combining premium Canadian storytelling with modern advertising capabilities across brand strategy media data and adtech.
This role is not a conventional media sales leadership position. It is a senior commercial leadership role within a public media service organization where trust responsible media and local Canadian cultural values are part of the product. Success requires the ability to deliver strong business results while protecting what makes public media different: brand safety and suitability quality environments and long-term relationships built on credibility. The goal is not growth at any cost.
You will lead integrated sales in an environment where quality matters as much as volume and where Canadian first is a commercial and cultural advantage. You will help major advertisers and agencies access premium trusted Canadian environments with simplicity and confidence. You will bring a strong point of view on responsible media brand safety and suitability and high-quality storytelling while translating the intersection of media data and adtech into outcomes that advertisers can measure. This role requires executive presence externally and disciplined leadership internally to build a high performing culture across a complex organization.
Your Tasks:
Ensure sales directions and strategies align with corporate objectives and the public service mission while delivering revenue targets across Montreal and Quebec Regions.
Build and execute a market facing growth plan that positions CBC and Radio-Canada as the trusted Canadian first alternative for TV premium video audio and cross platform solutions.
Ensure all platforms and assets are leveraged to the greatest extent possible including linear CTV digital video audio sponsorship and integrated partnerships while protecting premium value and maximizing yield.
Establish and evolve a modern revenue model for the sales team including portfolio design pricing principles packaging strategy and incentive logic that supports sustainable growth and responsible media standards.
Direct and oversee the implementation of sales initiatives and measure performance through forecasting discipline pipeline health account growth plans and gap analysis with a clear operating cadence and accountability rhythm.
Lead strategic selling and negotiation at the most senior levels including complex multi-quarter partnerships that combine brand strategy storytelling and measurable outcomes in premium environments.
Champion a responsible media approach across client solutions including brand safety and suitability standards quality controls and a clear point of view on trusted environments and long-term brand building.
Direct and lead the activities of the sales team across Montreal and Quebec Regions including setting objectives assigning responsibilities evaluating performance and providing ongoing coaching mentoring and development.
Drive change and capability uplift across a mixed workforce including unionized professional and management groups building a culture of respect performance and collaboration.
Stay ahead of market evolution including CTV growth programmatic dynamics measurement expectations privacy requirements and agency operating model shifts and translate these trends into practical selling strategies that preserve trust and quality.
Establish strong relationships with senior business partners and internal leaders to ensure shared understanding of objectives faster decision making and stronger client outcomes.
Partner with internal teams across research marketing product ad operations and governance to strengthen data led selling reporting and measurement while upholding privacy and public trust standards.
Contribute to the broader Media Solutions strategic plan including modernization priorities talent development and improvements to the client experience.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
University degree in Business Administration or a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of progressive sales leadership experience with accountability for significant revenue delivery and management of a large team.
Extensive knowledge of the advertising ecosystem including agency holding companies independent agencies and senior brand decision makers.
Demonstrated strength in integrated selling across TV and digital platforms with strong fluency in TV CTV digital video audience strategy and measurement.
Strong understanding of brand safety and suitability premium context value and responsible media principles with the ability to translate them into clear client value and commercial outcomes.
Strong understanding of the intersection of brand strategy media data and adtech with the ability to translate complexity into practical execution for clients and teams.
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and sustain results through change across multiple employee groups including unionized professional and management. Unionized leadership experience is an asset.
Strong background in strategic selling negotiation and executive presence with senior clients and partners.
High level decision making and project leadership capability including comfort operating under pressure with multiple priorities and competing timelines.
Creativity and innovation in developing new approaches under tight parameters and reduced resources with a bias toward simplification for clients and agencies without compromising quality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written verbal and listening with the ability to influence across all levels.
Bilingualism in French and English is required.
Available for occasional travel.
