SUMMARY
The Maintenance Class 2 position supports facility and equipment maintenance by performing basic preventive maintenance routine inspections and minor repairs. This role focuses on general upkeep safe operation of tools and equipment and assisting with maintenance tasks under established procedures. The Maintenance Class 2 employee works under the guidance of senior maintenance staff and operations leadership to ensure equipment reliability safety compliance and a clean functional work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and routine inspections on facilities and equipment
- Operate forklifts and other equipment as required (must pass in-house forklift certification)
- Safely operate hand and power tools in accordance with safety guidelines
- Assist with minor mechanical and electrical tasks under supervision
- Support housekeeping and general maintenance duties including cleaning and organization of work areas
- Read and follow basic electrical and equipment schematics as applicable
- Document completed inspections and maintenance activities as required
- Assist with monthly fire extinguisher and eyewash station inspections
- Follow OSHA environmental and PrimeFlight safety regulations at all times
- Communicate maintenance issues promptly to supervisors and maintenance leadership
- Support Maintenance Class 1 employees during larger repair or inspection project
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading writing speaking)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance procedures
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment
- Forklift operation experience preferred (certification required upon hire)
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic safety housekeeping and maintenance practices
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Pass required background check and drug screen
- Eligible to obtain required airport credentials and clearances (as applicable)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Prolonged standing walking bending kneeling crouching and reaching
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Exposure to noise chemicals and outdoor elements
- Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
- Repetitive use of hands wrists and arms
