Job Summary

Contract Design Engineer (SolidWorks) Full-Time / IR35 Status: Out

Contract Term 6 months (with a likely 6-month extension)

Location Site-based London

Our client is delivering a critical infrastructure project involving the installation of steelwork and fire cladding within a 660-metre tunnel. You will work directly alongside the Project Lead to finalise complex engineering assemblies for one of the UKs most high-profile transport hubs.

The project is currently managed by a single Lead Engineer who requires a dedicated SolidWorks expert to transition modelled components into a comprehensive library of "as-built" assemblies and client-ready drawings.

Responsibilities but are not limited to

Producing a large volume of "as-built" models based on site-specific installations
Generating fully assembled drawings for complex steelwork and cladding systems
Developing a series of 42 dimensional drawings (3D/2D) for client approval
Conducting on-site visits as required to verify dimensions and progress
Collaborating closely with the Project Lead to ensure all engineering aspects meet stringent tunnel standards
Due to the nature of the projects there is an expectation to work night shifts (typically 11:00pm to 4:30am) for approximately two nights every 23 weeks

Experiences required

Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks is essential
Proven background in Engineering specifically with steelwork and cladding systems
Experience producing high-accuracy as-built drawings for large-scale infrastructure
Self-sufficiency: The contractor must provide their own workstation and SolidWorks license
Ability to work independently as part of a small senior-level team

40 Hours P/W Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
