Job Summary
The Spotlight After School program seeks an Assistant Director who is enthusiastic about theatre education and eager to support young performers in a creative structured and encouraging environment. Working closely with the Director the Assistant Director helps guide elementary school students through the rehearsal and performance process while fostering confidence collaboration and a love of ideal candidate brings a positive attitude strong communication skills and the ability to work patiently with children of varying experience levels. The Assistant Director supports both the artistic and logistical aspects of the program helping ensure rehearsals run smoothly and students feel supported safe and include but are not limited to:-Assisting with the planning and execution of rehearsals-Supporting students during blocking line memorization movement and character development-Helping maintain a positive inclusive and focused rehearsal environment-Assisting with organization and management of sets props and costumes-Providing supervision and support during rehearsals and performances-Communicating with the Director regarding student progress and rehearsal needs-Assisting with communication to students and families as directedExperience preferred but not required. Training and guidance will be provided.
