Job Summary:

Provides care to athletes/patients in a preventive emergency and rehabilitative manner in accordance with Physicians orders and documents such care and treatment. Assists in the development and presentation of educational and community programs that support the Orthopaedics service line. Assist with various duties relating to the overall function of the department including oversight direction and leadership of the athletic training staff.

Job Duties:

  • Provides Athletic Training Services to patients and contracted organizations as assigned and as dictated by the BOC and State Medical Licensing board.
  • Assists with the development implementation and staffing for community events and related programming.
  • Provides support by covering other contracted schools or changing assignments.
  • Establishes and maintains community relations and provides educational programs for coaches athletes and community members.
  • Performs initial patient assessments and screens develops and distributes ongoing patient education information.
  • Provides positive leadership and direction to the athletic training staff to assume the ongoing development of staff including continued education regarding program care protocols and policies.
  • Day-to-Day operations in the absence of the Program Manager
  • In conjunction with the leadership updates program Policy and Procedure manual to align with system updates with annual reviews that impact athletic training services.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as statistical analysis of program contracting recruitment and retention of staff.
  • Address & navigate all sporting related conflicts (including complaints) that arise at schools with administration parents coaches fellow staff and the athlete.
  • Will oversee and lead athletic trainers and provide continued medical training.
  • Responsible for mentoring and guiding new employees CPR instruction skill assessments and continuous quality improvement initiatives with relation to sports medicine injuries and conditions.
  • Assists with coordinating sports schedules and shifting staff based on needs of the school/university.
  • Continuously review Sports Medicine Protocols for Return to Play Concussion Management Return to Learn and Standing Orders for both ATC and nursing and collaborate with the physicians to ensure they are accurate and have the most update to date guidance.

Position Details:

  • Hours:40 hours a week full time.

  • Required Experience:Must an active license of the state of PA in Athletic Training and certified. Two years of experience is required.

Education:
