The Opportunity:

Role Summary:
We are currently looking for a Shunt Truck Operator to join our fast-paced team at our Port Coquitlam Branch. This position reports to the Facility Supervisor. The immediate supervisor and/or department leader periodically checks assignments for progress. This position has no authority over other members of the team and has no direct reports.

Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday 2:00pm 10:00pm

Hourly Rate: $29.00/hr
Shift Premiums $.50/hr

Key Accountabilities:
In this role you will:
  • Primary role to shunt trailers and containers on and off building
  • Yard maintenance including managing arrangement of trucks and trailers as well as other movements within yard
  • Pick up and return trailers and containers to CPKC -Pitt Meadows
  • Circle check of power unit post trip
  • Capably operate a variety of equipment- Single Axle Tandem Axle 5-ton trucks
Qualifications
Were looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:
  • Must have valid Class One (1) manual license
  • 2 years of driving experience
Skills & Attributes:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Criminal record check must be submitted if hired within 30 days of hired
  • Good time management skills
  • Creative and effective problem-solving ability
  • Fluent verbally and possess good written English skills
