An excellent opportunity has arisen for an R&D Engineer to join a well-established global manufacturer. Based in Newtownabbey and reporting to the R&D Manager you will be part of a global product development team focused on designing and delivering next-generation products for international markets.

The Role:

Design and develop innovative components and products including conceptual sketches 3D CAD models detailed drawings and material selection.
Work both independently and within a multidisciplinary R&D team to deliver functional manufacturable design solutions.
Support quality and functional testing of development concepts analysing data and providing recommendations based on findings.
Evaluate materials prototypes and components through simulation and practical hands-on testing.
Produce samples and working models create rapid prototypes and coordinate the external manufacture of prototype tooling and components.
Collaborate with Operations on sourcing commissioning and optimisation of production equipment.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on process optimisation and design for manufacture.

The Person:

Third level qualification in Mechanical Manufacturing or Design Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years industrial experience in an R&D or Product Design role.
Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
