An excellent opportunity has arisen for an R&D Engineer to join a well-established global manufacturer. Based in Newtownabbey and reporting to the R&D Manager you will be part of a global product development team focused on designing and delivering next-generation products for international markets.

The Role:
- Design and develop innovative components and products including conceptual sketches 3D CAD models detailed drawings and material selection.
- Work both independently and within a multidisciplinary R&D team to deliver functional manufacturable design solutions.
- Support quality and functional testing of development concepts analysing data and providing recommendations based on findings.
- Evaluate materials prototypes and components through simulation and practical hands-on testing.
- Produce samples and working models create rapid prototypes and coordinate the external manufacture of prototype tooling and components.
- Collaborate with Operations on sourcing commissioning and optimisation of production equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on process optimisation and design for manufacture.
The Person:
- Third level qualification in Mechanical Manufacturing or Design Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years industrial experience in an R&D or Product Design role.
- Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
